If you know us, you know we don’t do mid. Not in tools. Not in moments. Not in coffee.
At BringYaLungs, it’s about slowing down, dialing in the details, and making something worth breathing in. That’s why when we brew, we brew with intention — and we trust Xela Coffee to bring the flavor.
Here’s how we make a proper pour over, whether you’re just waking up or zoning in for the day.
What You’ll Need
-
Whole beans (we recommend Xela Coffee – Whole Bean)
-
Burr grinder (for an even grind)
-
Pour over dripper (like a Hario V60 or Chemex)
-
Filter paper
-
Kettle (gooseneck preferred for precision)
-
Scale (optional, but clutch)
-
Timer
-
Mug or carafe
-
Hot water (200°F / just off boiling)
Step 1: Grind It Fresh
Start with fresh whole beans. Use a burr grinder to get a medium-coarse grind — like sea salt. Freshly ground coffee makes all the difference. We’re not just drinking caffeine — we’re tasting the roast.
Xela Coffee brings bright, bold flavor — expect notes of chocolate, citrus, and a clean finish. Perfect for focused mornings or chill resets.
Step 2: Set Up Your Flow
Place your pour over dripper on your mug or carafe. Drop in your paper filter and rinse it with hot water to remove the paper taste and preheat your gear. Dump out the rinse water.
Add your ground coffee (about 28g for one cup) and gently shake to level it out.
Step 3: Pour with Precision
Start your timer.
Pour just enough hot water (about 40g) to wet all the grounds — this is called the bloom. Let it sit for 30–45 seconds as it releases gases and preps for extraction.
Then, in slow spirals, pour the rest of your water (about 300g total) over the grounds in stages. Keep it steady. Keep it centered.
Step 4: Let It Drip, Then Sip
Let the water fully drain through the coffee bed. It should take around 2.5 to 3.5 minutes total. Remove the dripper, take a second to breathe, then sip.
Clean, bold, and crafted with intention — just how we like it.

Chill It: Iced Pour Over Flow
Want to flip the temp without losing the craft?
Try the iced version: just drop ice cubes directly into your carafe or glass before brewing. Use a slightly finer grind and pour slowly — your hot brew will cool instantly, locking in flavor without dilution. Think flash-chilled coffee for sunny sessions or late-night clarity.

Pair It Like a Pro (feat. Bev Czech x BYL)
Some flavors just belong together.
In future drops with Bev Czech, we’re crafting pairings that balance citrus-forward brews, smooth espresso profiles, and bold flavor notes with our favorite session styles — without naming names.
Think: old fashioned–style infusions. Summer light roast meets citrus and vapor. Notes of oak, herb, and ritual. No hash talk. Just flavor theory.
